I got a text from Uncle B today telling me that he needed to show his boss this picture of Elizabeth that I posted on Facebook last night and asking why it was not on the blog. So not only does Uncle B check the blog and FB for pictures of his goddaughter but he also visits weekly, showers her in affection whenever he sees her and gets excited about every little thing she does without any type of encouragment. When Brendan is around the kids are his absolute focus - he is on the ground playing or in the yard pushing a swing or at the table participating in our family dinner ritual of "Best and Worst". Molly is genuinely disappointed if we are at Auntie Kake's and there is no Uncle B to tackle and secretly LOVES her nickname, "Stinkerbell". Sometimes I am amazed at how my cousins have risen to the challenge of being hands on Aunties and Uncles to my kids and no one does it better than Uncle B - he makes all five kids feel special when he is with them and makes this mom feel incredibly blessed to have him in my and my children's lives! So here is the picture of Uncle B's adoring goddaughter with a smile not quite as huge as the one she gets when she sees him! GNM - ILY!
