NEWPORT 2010 - Part 2

There were far too many pictures to put into one post so I had to divide them - pathetic that I take so many pictures, I know! Uncle B does count on them for the wallpaper on his phone, though! These pictures start with our hike (and I use that term loosely!) at Fort Adams after the big rain storm - it gave the kids a chance to run off some energy and the little ones loved splashing in the puddles!

It took me longer to get up the hill so I was able to get a shot of everyone at the top!

Don't they look like they are on a episode of Little House on the Prairie? Am I dating myself?

Little House on the prairies with gold fish in a baggie, of course! There was no way Lizzie was letting go of her snack - even while trying to climb a huge incline.

The whole gang at the top!

Uncle Ed and his nephews - everything is more fun with Uncle Ed.

Daddy and his girl enjoying the nice cool afternoon.

LizzieBug enjoying running around - with her goldfish!

Those H-W kids don't do anything without a snack handy!

Some nice guys stopped and gave Pete a quarter to look at the sights.

Katie loved her shadow.

We kept making Ed jog ahead to see where we should go - he was a good sport about it.

Ring around the Rosy with Uncle Ed.

Love this big sister moment. My beautiful boy!Pig Pile on Daddy.Ellie was very unsure about jumping in the puddles.Annie and Katie had no problem with puddle jumping. Trying to get a picture of the 8 kids! Our 5 beautiful kids! They were even slightly cooperative. Our little models. The whole gang!Ellie waiting for the show to start!Molly, Abby and Grammy putting on their show - it was worth the 50 cents. The publicity for the show!Counting the fruit of their endeavors. Auntie Ann came down for a visit and brought a surprise visitor with her - Grandma Betty. The boys had their own little place to eat. Auntie Ann and the boys!Katie - looking gorgeous eating her ice cream. Papa was not on his phone at all during vacation but I thought this was cute with Lizzie hanging out with him while he talked. We took a trip to the beach on Wednesday instead of heading to the zoo on a hot hot day. The kids had a blast but the beach had crazy amounts of seaweed and sea creatures all over the place - Mommy was a little bit grossed out!

Peter and his godmother bonding!Abby lost her first tooth and the tooth fairy found her in newport. She did ask to keep the tooth "Becasue she liked to look at it!"This is the big kids less than anxious to go on the Cliff Walk. They were tired and it was the last day of vacation so we had to beg them to go. In hindsight we should have let them stay behind - they ran to get to the end and be done. The Cliff Walk crew! Kk and I were the drivers! On Thursday before we came home Karla and I decided to take the girls to another mansion. We had gone to the Breakers a few days before and had free tickets to one more mansion. We chose Chateau Ser Mer because we had never been there and Karla likes to say the name. The girls loved the breakers - they had a family tour that was amazing and the grounds were incredible. Chateau was much smaller and we had a really boring tour guide. We still enjoyed the tour and being out but it was a little bit of a let down after the Breakers. How cool is this tree?Prizes from the arcade. Bob and Karla took the kids while we packed up and got ready to go home - next year we have a written contract that Pat and I MUST be the ones to take the kids to pick their prizes - it was a nightmare!Peter and papa!Trying to get a serious picture of my brother - again!Katie started jumping into the pool. Only to her Papa, of course! The H-W kids zonked out in the car on the way home. Ellie Bean sleeping like a little angel. When we got home at 10 p.m. Auntie Meg stopped over to welcome us back - it was really the kids that she wanted to see - she had to get a Lizzie hug before work!

We had a wonderful vacation and feel so lucky that Grammy and Papa spoil us with vacations, time, energy and everything else. The kids are still talking about all of the fun we had and woke up on saturday looking for Grammy and Papa and Auntie Karla and uncle Pat and the kids!
