Happy 1st Birthday!

It's official - 3 toddlers in the house and NO babies! Molly keeps reminding me that I call them all my babies no matter how old they get but my arms feel a bit empty now that everyone is mobile and a bit independant. I'm just thankful for healthy, happy kids!Ellie posing for Mommy on her 1st birthday. Both girls had their 1 year appointments this week and are doing amazingly well.Vital Stats - 30 inches long - 90th percentile
20 pounds - 50th percentile
Ellie's hernia appears to be fixing itself and other than an allergy to milk products for the time being she is doing perfectly. She is still get birth to three services monthly to work on some minor developmental issues but it is kind of funny how often they come and are pleasantly surprised by her progress. Go, Ellie - what a miracle!
Loving those big smiles for Mama.Ellie getting some loving from Annie - as usual!Lizzie Mack is also doing very well - in order to spare us two rounds of shots we had the girls go to the pediatrician together for their one year appointments - that was fun! Three vaccinations and two flu shot boosters for each baby - they were so good!Daddy and his girl!Papa and his girl!Lizzie's vital stats - 32 inches long - 100th percentile
23 pounds, 13 ounces - 60th percentil
She is long and lean - maybe our UCONN b-ball player according to Dr. Brown.
Lizzie's hernia is completely repaired on it's own - yeah!
She is switching over to whole milk but since Ellie needs to stay on bottles for a bit longer we have decided to let Lizzie stay on bottles for a while too - if she wants them.
She walked all over the office showing off for the nurses and doctors and didn't cry until her last shot! The lollipop really helped with the pain.
Crackers for the birthday girl.Uncle Pat thinks he is so funny - dressing up his godson in Steelers gear. Two of my godchildren - Lucas and Abby - how cute are these two?Auntie Ann made another amazing cake with clowns and three different flavors of cake - everyone raved about it.Papa has his hands full but is loving it.I love this picture of the twins - how sweet are they!Kk and Auntie Meg with the twins - in case you didn't notice their shirts say I love Mom - I figured that on their birthday I was entitled to display whatever message I wanted.Lizzie would not pose for pictures! My beautiful niece - Katie is starting to look so much like Patrick with her dark curly hair and big beautiful blue eyes. She is also a sweet little girl with lots of hugs for her auntie - I love being with her!The princess waiting for her cake!Molly helping Lizzie open her presents - very exciting! We are very fotunate that both Molly and Peter treasure their roles as big sisters and brothers - they love to be a part of everything that the babies do and love to show them off.Daddy helping ELlie open her gifts.Brigid took these pictures for me and when I looked at this one I laughed because it sort of looks like Karla is saying to herself "My mother-in-law is nuts!" We all know that isn't what she is saying but............Papa and the boys!Lizzie loving the attention she gets on her birthday. She was probably a little bit confused about the whole birthday thing since we made a big deal about her birthday when we were in Philadelphia and then waited a month and celebrated again! Ellie loves her blanket from Auntie Ann.Julia halping Lizzie with her presents and loving it.Ella dressed in her "Cheetah print" - Uncle B called it a leopard print and she was very quick to correct him.Sisters gabbing!Abby collecting her ammunition. The 7 Harding Wheelers - I have to try to get these pictures when I can.Paper fight.I love this action shot of Julia.Happy Birthday to you, Lizzie and Ellie.Ellie was shaking because she was so excited about the candles and having everyone sing Happy Birthday to her - it was the sweetest thing.Lizzie was only interested in getting her little fingers in the frosting."What am I supposed to do with this?"Lizzie knew just what to do with it.Have some cake, Lizzie! I love this picture.Nothing better than a baby with frosting hands and all sugared up!The girls playing! The next day Ellie was the recipient of a "makeover" by Molly - the babies are like her little dolls - she dresses them up and parades them around the house - I love it!
Thank goodness my family is able to rally for a party - I literally threw this together the day before and most of the family was able to get there. The girls were showered in love and affection and since my mom and Auntie Kate and Karla were here I barely had to lift a finger!
Happy Birthday to our beautiful babies - I can't imagine a life before you came along and I love being your mom. You are both a blessing from God that Daddy and I treasure you - what lucky parents we are! We are so glad that the two of you were born!
GNM - ILY!
