Annie's Bad Day!

Annie fell off of a chair yesterday and after waiting to see who it was feeling for a few hours we took her to the Emergency room at Children's Medical Center. Papa and I took her becuase Daddy was with Peter at another Doctor's appointment and Uncle Colin stayed with the other kids so that we could get everything done.

Beautiful little girl hands!

If I give you a smile will you leave me alone?

Getting comfrotable was no easy feat. Since she is so little they do not to give her pain meds and instead treated her with just Motrin but it didn't touch the pain for most of the night. She had alot of trouble finding a position that she might be able to sleep in.

Our sad little girl - she just wanted it to stop hurting and it broke our hearts not to be able to do anything.
Turns out she has a sub-condelar break in her upper arm. She will have this cast on for a week to allow for some heavy duty swelling and then we will take back to CCMC for a real cast which will stay on for 6-8 weeks. It is going to be a long hoiliday season!

Daddy rubbing Annie's feet - the only place that felt okay to touch last night!

Grammy and Papa came over and Grammy did her best to make Annie feel better.

Only Grammy can make Annie actually smile after such a rough night!

Finally asleep! For an hour!

Auntie Meg brought Lila and Brendan over this morning and Annie was a completely different kid with her cousins here - happy, smiling! It was amazing!

Finally we see those big Annie smiles!

We'll keep everyone updated on Annie's condition but for the most part she is on the mend. The real cast will be heavy so they would like to limit activity completely for at least a few weeks to eliminate the possibility of hurting her shoulder. She will eventually recover fully but according to the doctor this morning the healing for this kind of break is pretty long and extensive! Good thing our girl is a trooper and has lots of people who adore her and will make this recovery easy and filled with fun!
