Summer fun 2012

I wouldn't blog so much of my kids weren't so darn cute! It seems a shame to let all of these adorable pictures from the beach last weekend and our first week of summer to go to waste so here we go!
There is nothing better than a game of cards and some snacks to end the day at Grammy's beachouse!

My little beach baby could not wait to get out on the beach! When we woke upat 8 am the tide was out and there were ten sandbars just waiting to be explored!

Lizzie was not thrilled about the seaweed that comes along with low tide but she loves to play in the sand and could do it for hours on end.

Annie loves the beach and anything associated with it. Here she is letting a little hermit crab crawl up her arm!

Bob and Annie making their way to another sandbar.

We brought our sixth child (Lucas) along for the weekend and it was the first time we were able to give them a bit of freedom to walk on the beach alone, go down to the park and not be in our sight every second. They loved it!

Annie Bananie loving life at the beachhouse.

Bob helping Lizze get over her fear of seaweed.

Papa set the girls up with their own little table to eat lunch at.

Papa's girls!

Annie eating her ice cream - Grammy always has plenty of ice cream available at the beachhouse.

Auntie Meg and Lila loving their ice cream.

Our first harvest from our garden - 2 tiny little cucumbers.

The three littles dressed for the day with accessories and everything.

We had nothing to do on Saturday so we decided to head up to the RH park pool for a swim. The kids had a blast.

Molly and Ellie swimming in the baby pool. There was a chemical issue in the big pool so everyone had to swim in the baby pool.

My Molly Girl!

Ellie Bean loving the pool! The poor kid - no matter how hot it is out she is freezing when she is in the pool.

Molly took Ellie in the big pool.

Once we swam a bit we all ran down the hill at the park.

Our four girls running down the hill.

I love my girls!

Once they ran down the hill they had to roll down the hill.

My five beautiful children tired and ready for some ice cream and sleep after a long day at the park and pool.

Virginia 2012

Peter and Molly had a blast in Virginia with Auntie Courtney and Uncle Gary and Bob and I loved having the little ones all to ourselves for a few days! It was nice to get the whole family back together after a long week and now we are getting into the swing of summer!
The three littles ready for our trip to Virginia with a special stop in NJ!

Our beautiful girls!

Ready for a safari. The car can only go 12 mph so the kids are allowed to ride in the front seat and without seat belts for the duration of the 2 hour ride! They loved it!

I can't remember the name of this animal but the kids loved that it kept crossing in front of our car!

Lizzie thought ahead and brought her binoculars so she could see all the animals up close.

Annie Bananie LOVED every moment of the safari.

Even Ellie Bean got into after a half hour or so - she was terrified for a while.

Once we finished the safari we needed to stretch our legs and have some fun so Bob and I grabbed a cold drink and let the girls play for a while.

Ellie kept going down on her belly - she was so dirty but she loved every minute of it.

Lizzie waiting for Ellie to clear the bottom of the slide.

Our girls climbing the fences.

Ellie getting some help from Daddy.

The girls loved this elephant - they kept going back to play on it.

Annie and the giraffe.

Our little monkey eventually got on the giraffe head and could not get down.

Back at the elephant.

Bob and I drove for a few hours after the safari trying to find a hotle - unfortunately we ran into a lacrosse tournament that had every hotel booked for a good 50 miles. We just tucked everyone back into the car and kept driving until we found a hotel with a pool and a place to eat. The littles were such good sports.

Loving the pool even though it was only 68 degrees outside of the pool.

Lizzie will swim no matter how cold it is - this was no exception - poor Bob was in the freezing cold pool for hours!

Swimming!!!!!!

Elizabeth Mack - our little fishy!

Ellie couldn't even give me a smile because she was SO cold.

Lizzie and Daddy having fun in the pool.

I love this picture - the girls were having such a good time in the water while poor Ellie was shivering on my lap under three towels.

I love this picture of the littles - somehow I can see this picture 10 years down the line when they are teenagers hanging out at the pool all summer.

Showered, warm, dressed for bed and snuggling together.

Buggy sleeping.

Banana looking like a little angel.

Good morning, sunshine! Strawberries in bed with Daddy!

Ready for breakfast!

Our three beautiful babies - sometimes I can't believe how lucky we are! Bob and I loved having some time with the little girls alone but everytime we did anything they asked for their big sister and brother. It was adorable.

Once we got to Auntie Courtney's we headed straight for the pool.

Molly and Claire - these two are such good friends! I love how they are together.

Pool time - notice that Peter was nowhere to be found - he was off with his new friends from Aidan's neighborhood while we all hung out in the pool. It was so much fun to be sitting beside a pool with Courtney again - just like the days when she and I used to bring Peter and Aidan to Elm Ridge park pool and spend hours talking while they played in the wading pool! I miss Courtney!

Annie LOVED the pool and especially the toys!

Lizzie Bug having a blast in the pool.

Since we were all together celebrating Father's Day together Courtney made the night special by organizing a Dad's wiffle ball game, getting "poppers" for the kids to throw, cooking a special dinner and serving cake and ice cream for dessert. It was so much fun to be all together but we did miss seeing Papa on his special day - luckily Papa understood why we needed to be away and agreed to celebrate with us the following weekend!

Popper Fun!

Uncle Gary and his boys!

The Dads and their kids celebrating Father's Day as the sun goes down - a perfect day!

Molly and Claire made the cake and Annie, Lizzie and Ellie frosted and decorated it!

Annie is ready for some cake.

Claire and Molly decorated with posters and drawings for each of the dads!

The littles love Claire and she was so good with them!

Ring Around the Rosey!
So there you have it - our wonderful trip to Virginia was filled with fun and love! We were thrilled to have some time with Courtney, Gary and the kids and Peter and Molly loved their time away from home with their friends! Bob and I missed the big kids so much when they were away and had a great time hearing about everything they did while they were away! The littles are still loving having their big brother and sister home and so am I!
